Blue Tansy

Blue Tansy essential oil comes from a beautiful yellow-flowered plant called Tanacetum Annuum, which is sustainably sourced from Morocco. Many people know this plant as Moroccan Tansy or Moroccan Chamomile because it's in the same family as Roman Chamomile and German Chamomile.

Farmers harvest the plant from mid-July through September and use steam distillation to extract the essential oil.

Despite its yellow flowers, Blue Tansy oil gets its name from its deep indigo blue color. This color comes from a chemical compound called chamazulene, which forms during the steam distillation process.

Chamazulene isn't present in the plant's natural state, but it helps bring out the plant's natural therapeutic benefits.

Benefits:

  • Reduces inflammation: The camphor and sabinene in Blue Tansy help reduce inflammation.
  • Soothes irritation: The azulene content reduces redness and calms irritated skin.
  • Nourishes skin: Azulene also nourishes and regenerates skin cells.
  • Calms sensitive skin: Blue Tansy's gentle properties soothe sensitive or reactive skin
  • Helps with acne: It can help clear acne and oily skin.
  • Helps with sun damage: Blue Tansy can treat sun damage
